What You’ll Need:
- ScandiNailia Press-On Nail Set
- Nail File (included)
- Cuticle Pusher (included)
- Alcohol Pads (included)
- Sticky Tabs (5 sheets included for flexible wear)
Step 1: Prep Your Nails
- Wash Thoroughly and Dry: Clean nails are essential for a long-lasting hold. Wash your hands and nails with a generous amount of dishwashing liquid to remove any oily residue, which is key to achieving a secure bond. Then, dry your nails thoroughly using a paper towel to prevent any oil from regular towels transferring back onto the nails. (Tip: The best time to apply your nails is after a shower, when hands are clean and dry!)
- Push Back Cuticles: Gently push back your cuticles with the included cuticle pusher, making room for the press-on nails to sit flush against your nail bed.
- Shape and Buff: Use the nail file to lightly buff the surface of each nail. (ScandiNailia recommends to skip this part for healthier nail bed)
- Clean with Alcohol Pads: Wipe each nail with the alcohol pad to remove any oils or residues for a secure fit.
Step 2: Choose Your Size
- Find the Right Fit: Select the press-on nail size that best fits each natural nail.
- Adjust as Needed: If a press-on nail feels slightly too large, use the nail file to shape it to your perfect size.
Step 3: Apply Sticky Tabs
- Peel and Place: Remove the sticky tab from the sheet and place it on your natural nail, pressing down firmly.
- Remove Film: Peel off the protective film on top of the sticky tab in a rotative move for easier peeling.
Step 4: Apply Press-On Nails
- Align and Press: Carefully align the press-on nail with your natural nail, starting at the cuticle and pressing down towards the tip.
- Hold Firmly: Press and hold each nail for at least 10 seconds to ensure a secure bond.
Step 5: Enjoy Your Longer-Lasting Nails!
Removal Tips
ScandiNailia recommends using alcohol disinfectant for easy removal. The alcohol helps dissolve the adhesive on the sticky tabs, making it easier to lift the nails gently.
If you don’t have access to alcohol disinfectant, you can also use any type of oil (such as olive or coconut oil) combined with dishwashing liquid to ease the lifting process. Simply apply a small amount of oil around the edges of the nails and, using the pointy side of the cuticle pusher, carefully lift a corner while massaging gently. Follow with a warm, soapy water soak to help loosen the adhesive further.
